After a melee Q stun, keep walking through the target to body-block the escape and only then spend W or R; a lot of Tahm’s real top-lane damage comes from forcing extra seconds of contact and sometimes spitting people farther from tower, not from bursting the instant Q lands
Tahm lane is best when he owns the strip in front of the wave, because his waveclear is clumsy and the matchup gets much worse once a freeze or low health takes away his right to stand there and threaten Q
Good Tahm games make top lane stay unresolved for the enemy, and even rough starts recover if you stop coinflipping engages and drag the game toward longer fights where his peel, chain CC, and durability still matter
Use W once their path is already narrowed. In lane, the clean versions are after Q slow or stun, when they have committed into your wave, or when you can place the landing behind them so walking out means walking deeper into you. If you fire it raw from distance, most tops just sidestep and you lose your turn. When you are ahead, W is best for extending a trade past the safe point; when you are behind, it is often better held to break a dive or punish the extra step under your tower. Think of it as a trap door, not a handshake.

Tahm Kench lashes out with his tongue, damaging and slowing the first unit hit and healing himself if he strikes an enemy champion.Applies a stack of An Acquired Taste to enemy champions. If the champion already has 3 stacks of An Acquired Taste, they are stunned and the stacks are consumed.
Dive down and then re-appear at target location, damaging and knocking up all enemies in an area.
Passive: Tahm Kench stores a percent of the damage he takes and heals based on it while out of combat.Active: Convert all stored damage into a temporary shield.
Tahm Kench devours a champion for a few seconds, dealing magic damage if they are an enemy, or shielding them if they are an ally.
